Why are we writing a blog?

charity: water has had nearly fifty schools sign up to raise money to build wells in developing nations. One of the organization's initiatives for 2009 is to expand that program so that we can build awareness of the 1.1 billion people without access to clean and safe drinking water. One way we hope to do that is by providing the perspective of children on the lives of children in those countries. We hope our five daughters can, through this blog and the videos they will take, help connect other children to those in Ethiopia.

We hope that children at those fifty schools along with those at our daughters' schools will benefit from reading this blog. We also hope that other adults and children who want to understand more about a part of the world that is very different from our own will also benefit.
